Wes Wes! Announcing the Cast and Creative Team 

Theatr Cymru is thrilled to announce the exceptional cast and creative team who will bring our wonderful playwrights’ work to the stage at Caffi Maes B at this year's National Eisteddfod. 

Directed by Rhian Blythe, Wes Wes! will feature performances from Cadi Beaufort (Stwnsh Sadwrn), Noel Loreto Davies (Rownd a Rownd / Wrecslam!), Rhodri Evan (Y Sŵn) and Gwenllian Higginson (35 Diwrnod / Gwlad yr Asyn). Alongside this amazing cast, Màth Roberts - composer and music director - will also be performing. Set and costumes will be designed by Lois Prys, with Jess Williams joining the team as movement director. 

Following the tremendous success of Wrecslam! (2025), Ha/Ha! (2024) and Rwan/ Nawr (2023), Wes Wes! will offer an hour of short comedy plays at Caffi Maes B to provide a platform for new writing and offering an opportunity to develop and produce new short Welsh comedy plays. 

This year, the show will include new writing by Carwyn Blayney, Leo Drayton, Geraint Lewis and Grug Muse - with Llinos Mai writing a prologue and epilogue to bridge the plays together. 

Steffan Donnelly, Theatr Cymru’s Artistic Director said: 

“I'm delighted that our new writing scheme is returning to the National Eisteddfod again this year, with Rhian Blythe at the helm. Since launching this series of shows with Rwan/Nawr in 2023, these exciting performances at Caffi Maes B have become one of our annual highlights as a company and the response from the audience is always incredible.

Following an open call to find playwrights, it's wonderful to see this exceptional cast and creative team come together to bring the work to life - and I can't wait to share this show full of humor and mischief with everyone at Eisteddfod y Garreg Las”.
