With just a month to go until this year’s National Eisteddfod, Theatr Cymru is very happy to share a glimpse of the short plays that will be performed as part of Wes Wes! this year – new writing from Llinos Mai, Geraint Lewis, Leo Drayton, Carwyn Blayney and Grug Muse.

Pwyllgor Pobol y Preselau by Llinos Mai
In an undisclosed location (the back room of the local garage), the secret committee Pwyllgor Pobol y Preselau has called an emergency meeting to discuss something very serious. Pembrokeshire has dropped to number 8 in the "The Top 10 Places to Visit in the UK" list and the P.P.P. need to act urgently to save the area’s reputation…
Morlo Mwnt by Geraint Lewis
There’s nowhere better than Mwnt beach in Dewi and Meinir’s opinion. When the couple notice a seal in the middle of the beach, they must try to stop the oblivious visitors who are walking straight towards it... but everything may not be as it seems.
Cymorth Cyntaf by Leo Drayton
Over to a local community centre, where a small group of participants is attending a first aid course. But between wrapping bandages and confusing CPR with CPJ, their newly learned skills are put to the test sooner than expected when the instructor suddenly falls ill.
Wedi Swyno by Carwyn Blayney
Dive into the past, into the time of legends, into a time where it’s extremely common to fall into a fairy ring and disappear completely... But when Dafydd tries to return home to his mam, he realises that it’s not easy to escape this magical world.
Annwfn by Grug Muse
Welcome to Annwfn, a space between heaven and hell. But there are no pearly gates in sight... it’s Anwen and her hairdressing salon that welcome newcomers to eternal life and make sure their hair looks good too.

Directed by Rhian Blythe with set and costumes by Lois Prys and movement by Jess Williams, the plays will be brought to life by an incredible cast: Cadi Beaufort, Noel Loreto Davies, Rhodri Evan and Gwenllian Higginson, performing alongside composer and music director, Màth Roberts.

Catch Wes Wes! in Caffi Maes B at 6pm between 3 and 6 August 2026 (Monday to Thursday). Free entry with a ticket to the Maes.
