Golygfeydd o'r Pla Du

A Theatrau Sir Gâr Production. A mischievous, black (death) comedy of crisis and corruption from writer Chris Harris. Welcome to the Black Death – there’s nothing funnier.

1348, Pentreufargirec. A new chaos has arrived – Plague. God has betrayed the people, and a frenzy of finger-pointing, cat-hunting and heretic-burning has drowned the village in the toilet. To con-artist Twm, everything is ripe for the picking. With people dying, there’s a social ladder to climb. But under the rule of a Tax Collector desperately searching for love, and a revolutionary manure-seller spreading free-thinking amongst the peasantry, Twm will realise that the climb to power has its obstacles.

A mischievous, black (death) comedy of crisis and corruption. Welcome to the Black Death – there’s nothing funnier.

Written and directed by Chris Harris, this is a Theatrau Sir Gâr Production, funded by the Arts Council of Wales, and supported by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru.

This is a Welsh language production, suitable for ages 14+ (contains strong language, themes of death, illness, comic gore, sarcastic humour and very fluffy puppets). Sibrwd, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru's Welsh language access app, will be available at every performance.

Sibrwd

In each performance, Sibrwd – Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru's language access app – will be available to guide the audience through the story, whatever their level of fluency in Welsh. Through captions which appear on the user’s phone, the app conveys in English what is being said on the stage. The app is available for the audience to use with their own mobile phone and it’s completely free.
