A joint project from Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Mentrau Iaith Cymru which brought children in Wales together to enjoy various workshops over Zoom. The sessions included opportunities for dancing, performing and creating characters, suitable for primary aged children from Year 2-Year 6. The experts leading on the fun were Owen Alun, Jalisa Andrews, Ffion Wyn Bowen and Sian Elin. All Mentrau Iaith (Language Initiatives) in Wales were part of the scheme, drawing participants from all areas.
For many years, we have worked closely with Mentrau Iaith in west Wales to provide weekly Drama Clubs. Clwb Theatr Cymru in summer 2020 was the first time the company worked in partnership with Mentrau Iaith Cymru to bring together every Welsh language initiative throughout Wales, and provide participation work on this scale.

"The session was this afternoon and she loved it! She was a little nervous and apprehensive but I left her to it and then I wasn’t allowed back in the room." Parent
As part of Clwb Theatr Cymru in summer 2020, 118 children from 18 Menter Iaith areas across Wales came together to enjoy weekly online sessions. Watch the video below to learn more:
Clwb Theatr Cymru Nadolig
Following the great success of Clwb Theatr Cymru during summer 2020, we organised some further sessions with Mentrau Iaith Cymru for Christmas – Clwb Theatr Cymru Nadolig.
These sessions – lead by Richard Elis, Jalisa Andrews and Sian Elin - gave children across Wales the opportunity to enjoy pantomime and dance sessions during the holidays over Christmas 2020. We had so much fun with everyone!
