Hello and Goodbye

It’s been a busy few months for us as a company as we welcomed new members of staff and also said goodbye to some team members who have been an important part of Theatr Gen for years.

We’re thrilled to announce that Gareth Wyn Roberts and Caryl McQuilling are the two now at the helm of our Production department. Both have worked with the company for years as freelancers, and we are so excited to have welcomed them as permanent members of staff.

Gareth joins as our new Head of Production, with Caryl working alongside him as Company Production Manager. For the past few years, Gareth has been working as a Project Manager at Wild Creations, and Caryl has been busy as Tafwyl’s Chief Officer with Menter Caerdydd. We can’t wait to work with these two as we prepare for an exciting programme for 2023/2024!

But it’s also time to say goodbye to a few members of the team…

She is standing outside against a backdrop of a car park. She wears a turquoise top with dark blue zigzag pattern.

Recently, three very special staff members have said their goodbyes to the company. After 19 years, our Finance and Administration Officer Nesta Jones has stepped down, and we’re wishing her every happiness on her retirement. Meinir James – our Finance Manager – is also stepping down (after 16 years as a dear friend to the company, and 6 years as a member of staff), to concentrate fully on her new role as County Councillor for the Llangyndeyrn Ward and to spend more time with her family. We’re also wishing the best of luck to Ffen Jones, our Technical Officer, who is embarking on a new adventure in the Arts Department at the University of Wales Trinity St David.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your work and your friendship, Nesta, Meinir and Ffen – you are friends for life. Good luck for the future, from the whole Theatr Gen family.
