Romeo a Juliet

Two families, two languages and a young couple who are prepared to risk it all.

“Speakest thou from the heart?”

Two families, two languages and a young couple who are prepared to risk it all.

Profound passion meets total chaos, as a clashing society is pushed to the brink and changes love’s course forever.

This is a new exploration of the famous tragic love story, placing the violent feud between the Montagues and Capulets in bilingual Wales.

Under Steffan Donnelly's direction, this ground-breaking production will weave together Welsh and English, exploring Welsh identity and offering a new perspective on Shakespeare’s timeless play.

In association with Shakespeare's Globe.

Set to open at Cardiff’s Sherman Theatre on 29 September, the production will tour venues across Wales ahead of a limited run at the Globe’s Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in London. The Welsh tour dates are available below - the dates for the London run will be announced soon.
