A new home for Theatr Gen

Theatr Gen have moved to a new home at Canolfan S4C yr Egin in Carmarthen!

Just a stone’s throw from our previous home at Y Llwyfan, we’re thrilled to be starting a new chapter and joining the community of creative organisations in this very special building.

This pivotal moment in the company’s history aligns with our efforts to make our work as sustainable as possible and reduce the company’s carbon footprint. We’re working towards achieving net zero as an organisation by 2030, in line with the Welsh Government’s Public Sector target. Moving to Yr Egin is a big step towards achieving this goal as the building has achieved BREEAM Excellent accreditation for sustainability. The new open-plan office offers a valuable collaborative space, in keeping with our team’s hybrid working patterns following the pandemic.

There are hundreds of window panels, and we can see some office furniture through the windows. The sky is blue and there is green grass patches in front of the building.

Of course, while packing up our offices at Y Llwyfan after 15 years, we came across a few treasures, including scripts from our past productions which have been shared with schools and libraries across Wales and also old props and costumes which will be repurposed for our next productions.

Huge thanks to everyone at yr Egin for the warm welcome. We’re looking to the future with excitement as we settle into our new home and can’t wait to welcome artists, companies and co-workers – if you’re at yr Egin, be sure to pop in and say hello.
