To coincide with the beginning of our first tour since lockdown, Udishido Records have released an EP today which includes 5 songs from the theatre production Gwlad yr Asyn, which are performed live in the show.

You can listen to the songs here.

With lyrics by playwright Wyn Mason, the music has been composed, produced and performed by Samiwel Humphreys and Bethan Rhiannon (Calan, Pendevig, NoGood Boyo, Shamoniks) along with Gwenllian Higginson.

From 10 to 26 August 2021, Gwlad yr Asyn, a new co-production from Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Os Nad Nawr, will be touring to venues around Wales. After opening at Wales Millennium Centre, it will tour to open-air stages at Theatr Clwyd (Mold), Plas Glyn-y-Weddw (Llanbedrog, near Pwllheli), Pontio (Bangor), Pembrey Country Park (via Carmarthenshire Theatres) and Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

Directed by Steffan Donnelly directs, this mischievous play combines allegory, satire, song and live music, and there are three performers in the show: actress Gwenllian Higginson (Merched Caerdydd, Macbeth, Enid a Lucy, 35 Diwrnod) and composers and musicians Samiwel Humphreys and Bethan Rhiannon.
