Kids from Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Menter Gorllewin Sir Gâr’s Clwb Drama bring the Circus to Y Llwyfan

27/06/2017

Pawb yn clwb drama

Our weekly drama club (Clwb Drama) continues to go from strength to strength. Last week the club had their very first showcase. Families and friends came along to Y Llwyfan to watch the group, who showed off their talents and new skills with an original performance based on the magical world of the circus.

Underneath multicoloured umbrellas, and to the sound of magical music, the young group brought the fun of the circus to the stage. Every member of the group, who are aged 7 to 11, had a part to play in the showcase, and they were all required to work together as a team to ensure the performance ran smoothly.

Llinos Jones, Participation and Marketing Officer, who is one of the club’s leaders, said: “We’re glad that we can give local primary school children an opportunity to take part in drama activities through the medium of Welsh outside school hours. The showcase on Wednesday night was the culmination of weeks of hard work, and a chance for the children to perform on stage under the bright lights of the theatre.”

Clwb Drama is a partnership with Menter Gorllewin Sir Gâr, and offers a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to develop new skills, to explore their creativity and to gain confidence through drama. The sessions are conducted in the Welsh language, and take place every Wednesday at 6.00 pm. For further information, please contact Gwawr Williams – gwawr@mgsg.cymru
