We’re pleased to announce the panel joining us to discuss the applications for our Artist and Community Bursary – Jalisa Andrews, Dan Jones and Gwennan Mair Jones.

Our Artist and Community bursary offers artists to work creatively with a specific community – be that a geographical, professional, online or shared identity community – and give people in that community the opportunity to experience the transformative impact of creativity on their lives.

Trained at Laine Theatre Arts and awarded a Betty Laine Scholarship, Jalisa Andrews is an actor and dancer from Port Talbot. Jalisa and her wife also run a Dance and Theatre school for children. Recently she has appeared in podcasts for BBC Sounds and online for BBC Sesh.

Dan Jones is Artistic Director at The Other Room. He’s a co-founder and has directed plays for Critical Ambition. Dan has worked as Associate + Assistant Director with Difficult Stage, Clwyd Theatre and Pontardawe Arts Centre. He is also an alumni of West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company.

Gwennan Mair Jones is the Director of Creative Engagement at Theatr Clwyd. Community, inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of Gwennan’s work and how through arts we can provide opportunity for change within communities.

We’re looking forward to welcoming them to the panel. More information about our bursaries will be released soon. Keep an eye on our website for updates.
