Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru announces its 2018 programme

Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru is delighted to announce its programme for the coming season, and to introduce a new venture, Theatr Gen Creu.

As the NHS celebrates its 70th birthday in 2018, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru will be exploring the theme of Care and Community throughout the year, and touring two new productions across Wales. The first of these will be Y Tad, a new translation by Geraint Løvgreen of the award-winning French play, Le Père (The Father), which will be touring in February and March. In November and December, the company will present Nyrsys on tour – a new and powerful verbatim play by Bethan Marlow, that includes several original songs by Rhys Taylor. Continue Reading…

Prize winning play to be staged at National Eisteddfod

Estron, the play that won the Drama Medal for playwright Hefin Robinson at the Abergavenny National Eisteddfod in 2016, will be performed at the Cwt Drama on the field of this year’s Anglesey National Eisteddfod at Bodedern.  This will be the main play of the week at the Drama Village, and it is presented by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru in partnership with the National Eisteddfod of Wales. Prize-winning play is performed at the National Eisteddfod

Rhith Gân, the play that won the Drama Medal for author Wyn Mason at the Maldwyn National Eisteddfod in 2015, will be performed in the Cwt Drama on the field of this year’s Monmouthshire and District National Eisteddfod at Abergavenny.
